Mentored by our founding figure and weaver extraordinaire, Kunhikkannan Thoppian, who was instrumental in building Thoppia’s culture, our obsession with quality has stood the test of time since our inception in the early 1900s. While Kunhikkannan Thoppian’s work remained within Kerala, it was his grandson, Parikshit Thoppian, who took the brand beyond. Starting with a store in Bangalore, he later developed an e-commerce website to cater to customers across India. Initially listing readymade products, he went on to develop the technology to enable online customization. Thoppia became the first website to offer inch-by-inch customization for home furnishing products like curtains, fitted sheets, cushions, and more.
